1. Why should I sign up for VetTechPrep?

VetTechPrep is a study resource with numerous features not available elsewhere to assist you in passing the VTNE®. The practice questions are formatted similarly to that of the actual exam, allowing you to become more familiar and comfortable with the types of questions on the exam and the process of navigating through this type of test. The database covers topics most relevant and commonly covered on the VTNE®, and excludes most of the minutia that would be less efficient for you to study. In short, VetTechPrep is the interactive, straightforward, and to-the-point way to prepare for your VTNE®.

Any person or company claiming to use VTNE material without their express consent is in violation of their Code of Conduct, and use of such materials is illegal and could result in license forfeiture. VetTechPrep is a successful review program because the questions in the course cover a wide array of topics that an entry-level Veterinary Technician would be expected to know. 5. How can I pass the VTNE®?

VetTechPrep's practice questions and practice exams are the best way to prepare to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam.

In order to take the VTNE®, you must be a graduate of an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) accredited veterinary technology program or a program approved by the regulatory board governing your jurisdiction. Before you take the exam, you must also submit an application to the AASVB.

Remember, approximately one-third of the people who take the VTNE® exam do not pass. Use VTNE practice questions and VTNE® practice exams to ensure that you are among the two-thirds who do pass. VetTechPrep's guarantee means we're here to help you pass the VTNE® with flying colors!

6. Why would I choose VetTechPrep for VTNE® practice questions?

In addition to modeling our questions in the format of the vet tech exam questions, VetTechPrep has also emulated the ratio of question types so that your study materials will have a similar percentage of items for each category (the VTNE® Practice Domains).

VetTechPrep also has other unique features, including a web-based interface so you can get accustomed to using the computer, as your VTNE exam will be computerized.

VetTechPrep allows you to choose to study by system/category (i.e. anatomy and physiology), or to have questions generated randomly, as they will be on the VTNE. Each question will be followed by a detailed answer explanation, so that you know why your answer was correct or not. You should read each answer explanation thoroughly as this will often have additional information about the disease and/or other answer choices. Users report that reading the answer explanations carefully is the most helpful aspect of VetTechPrep for VTNE® preparation. Studying in this format is far more interactive and engaging than conventional VTNE practice question books or VTNE® flashcards.

Some questions will have links to VetTechPrep PowerPagesTM which provide additional review material about the topic presented in the question. These PowerPages can be reviewed on-line immediately, printed, or revisited at a later time.

VetTechPrep provides detailed statistics and graphs to allow you to view your progress, and identify your weak and strong areas so you can better focus your study time.

VetTechPrep is portable - with our mobile app, you can take your exam practice questions with you on your mobile device or smartphone and study any time, anywhere!

Questions, Exams, and Features

1. Can I answer the questions in VetTechPrep more than once?

Throughout the course, you will take most questions at least twice, once in the practice mode and once in a practice exam. Any time you miss a question in either mode, it will be recycled and you will be asked that question again in subsequent practice sessions or exams.

The question recycling aspect of VetTechPrep is one of its unique and special features. This feature forces the user to learn all of the material in order to successfully complete both sections of the program. VetTechPrep feels that anyone who has learned all of the material in the course should be in spectacular shape going into his or her exam.

Once you have correctly completed questions, they will not be asked to you again. However, you can go back to review individual questions in the "Review and Stats" area of the program, as well as in the "Missed Questions" area.

Additionally, the Pile of Done feature allows you to retake every question you've answered correctly. The flashcard-like format serves up questions randomly, and your answers to these questions won't affect your statistics in any way. It's a nice way to brush up on questions you answered correctly in the past, including questions you likely haven't seen in some time. Just note that this feature is only unlocked once you've completed 80% of the questions in the program. Think of it as a little something to look forward to as you make your way through VetTechPrep.

2. How many practice exams are there?

The timed exam question database contains over 1,500 questions. This allows for a minimum of 8 full section exams (170 questions each) or many more shorter exams (options range from 5-60 questions per exam). However, if you miss questions in these exams, they will be recycled (with answer choices re-ordered) and asked again in a subsequent exam, so you will actually have more exams depending on your accuracy.

3. What do I do if I find a typographical error or believe a question, answer, or explanation contains an error?

If you believe there is an error in a question, please copy and paste the question into an e-mail to VetTechPrep Support and indicate what you believe to be incorrect. If you have a reference for your viewpoint, feel free to include it. The VetTechPrep team meets weekly to review any questions about the course material and to make modifications and additions as needed. When necessary, VetTechPrep may also contact an appropriate expert to obtain the most definitive answer to your question, which can take some additional time.

4. How do practice exams differ from practice questions?

The term "VTNE® Practice Exam" usually refers to a set of VTNE® practice questions completed as one session that is timed.

Since the VTNE® is a timed exam, it is important to do some of your vet tech prep by practicing answering questions in this manner. This will train you to distribute and prioritize your exam time without feeling pressured by working against a clock.

VetTechPrep's veterinary technician practice test questions are designed to help you learn and get a feel for what it is like to go through questions continuously, as in an actual exam.

While format of the VTNE® practice tests on our site mimic the functions of the VTNE®, you will have additional functions to further your studying, such as the ability to go back, mark questions you want to review at the end, and end your exam at any time. Since you may not always have a full hour to sit down and take a practice test, VetTechPrep practice exams are given in 30 question blocks. If you must end an exam early for any reason or do not complete it in the allotted time, you will NOT lose access or be penalized statistically for any questions you do not answer. VetTechPrep will only score the questions did answer before you closed the exam.

Explanations are also available for VetTechPrep's VTNE practice exam questions, but are not accessible until the end of the exam. You should at least review the explanations to any questions you answered incorrectly, although reviewing all explanations will provide additional information and is recommended.

5. Why do I need VTNE® practice questions?

VetTechPrep consists of over 1,300 questions covering very specific topics. VTNE® questions cover topics such as laboratory procedures, nursing care, pharmacology, diagnostics, surgical prep, anesthesia, and dentistry.

Veterinary technician exam practice questions provide a way for you to review specific topics in a format that is similar to what you will encounter on the exam.

6. Can I reset my question bank?

A VetTechPrep subscription entitles you to access to all questions in both Practice Question and Timed Exam modes. Each question is available in your active question pool until you have answered it correctly, at which point it is no longer served to you while attempting questions. Because your individualized statistics (which can provide valuable guidance in your studying) are based on your question history, we cannot reset your question bank.

Throughout the program, all questions you attempt, including those you answer correctly, will be available for review through your Statistics and History pages. Therein, you will find a complete history of every question you have answered, including your answer choices and answer explanations. In this way, all of the material remains available to you for the duration of your subscription.

As mentioned above in question #1, the Pile of Done feature allows you to retake every question you've answered correctly. The flashcard-like format serves up questions randomly, and your answers to these questions won't affect your statistics in any way.
